Then pet stains were first sprayed with Demolish et stain solution--(right picture), then Host compound will be applied to urine stains.  The host sponges will start to absorb urine and the Demolish pet stain remover from carpet for about a half an hour.   As the pet stains are being absorbed by the host sponges, we go to other parts of the house to clean, then later return when host has absorbed pet stain.

          Host does a excellent job of absorbing pet stains from the carpeting.  Wet extraction carpet methods tend to spread the urine by losing control of water thus penetrating to the back of the carpeting and other parts of the carpet area.  As a very wet spot starts to dry, (when using a wet/steam method carpet cleaning method), the urine stain will then reappear larger in size a few days later and may have a more stronger urine smell.  Host does not cause this problem as very mimimal amount of water is applied to the area; only enough moisture is used to break down the urine crystals and then is quickly absorbed by the host sponges.  Host does not activate urine odors but absorbs them as well.

If an area is still suspected of having some urine traces, a layer of host is applied again; it is worked into the urine spot and left for a few days to absorb any traces of urine that will wick up from below.  The Host will then be vacuumed up later by homeowner.  We somethimes will leave some host sponges with the homeowner to reapply once more to again continue absorbing the urine spot if needed.  Working with pet stains is not 100% perfect, but we have found our method to be very successful in most cases.      

Left--More Host sponges are spread heavily and worked into the entire area of the carpeting in dining area with the host Freestyle carpet machine for about 15 minutes; then the dirty sponges are extracted out dry. 

Right--Notice pet stains are gone in front of the table plus another application of host sponges are applied to pet stains in the back of the table's carpet area. This second application will be left for another half an hour to absorb more of the urine stains and then a repeat of brushing action with host machine to clean carpet will be done again .  As you can see, pet stains in the front of dining table are gone and carpet is almost dry.
